Join our nine-day Global Village trip building homes with partner families and learning about Habitat’s innovative housing solutions in Guatemala. Partner with Habitat for Humanity Guatemala to help bring strength, stability and independence to a family in need of a decent place to live. Explore the vibrant community and learn about local cultural groups in order to better understand Habitat’s work there. As you build with the family, you’ll be welcomed into the community. Eat traditional food and meet the neighbors whose community you’re helping to improve. This trip is a unique opportunity to experience life inside the culture. After volunteering during the day, you will have free time in the evenings for excursions, relaxation and reflection. During your day off, you and your team will explore the colonial city of Antigua, ancient Mayan ruins and more. Global Village sends volunteers to build with Habitat for Humanity projects across the world. Get your hands dirty on the work site, meet families whose housing situations have been improved with Habitat’s help, experience the area like an insider and do it all alongside a team of like-minded volunteers. No experience is required! This travel experience is a great way to combine your love for travel with your desire to make a positive difference.
Program donation and fundraising US $1,870 The trip fee for our Global Village trip to Guatemala is $1,870 which includes all of your lodging, in-country ground transportation, meals, cultural activities and almost half is a direct contribution to Habitat’s work in Guatemala and around the world. We'll give you a free website to help you fund raise for your trip along with some coaching to help you meet your goal. You are also welcome to skip fundraising and pay directly. Fundraising is as easy as telling your friends, family and co-workers about why you build with Habitat for Humanity. They may even ask to join the team!
