The island of Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017. We partnered with Group Missions International to help families put their lives back together again. During this trip we distributed water, food, supplies and lots of hugs to the elderly, families with children, the homeless, the disabled and those living in hard-to-reach areas of Cayey, Caguas, and Cidra, Puerto Rico.
March 19-24, 2018, returned to Puerto Rico in a partnership with All Hands and Hearts to serve those in need of our hands and feet. It's hard to believe, but 30% (nearly 1 million out of 3.3 million) of the people living on the U.S. island of Puerto Rico were still without power five months after Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated the territory. Families are still in desperate need of our help.
We've identified one family in the city of Cayey, Puerto Rico whose home was totally destroyed and all of their possessions destroyed. Our desire is to raise funds to cover the cost of building a new home for this family and recruiting a team of volunteers to travel to Puerto Rico to help assemble it.
